Jimmy Fallon Injury: 'Tonight Show' Host Almost Rips Finger in Accident

Jimmy Fallon almost ripped his fingers! "The Tonight Show" host had a minor accident in his Manhattan apartment on Friday morning, June 26, that led to his surgery the same day. He is expected to make a full recovery as his show was put in a two-week hold beginning today.

On Thursday night, June 25, before Jimmy Fallon's injury, the late night show host was seen dining and posing with his fans at an Italian restaurant, Scanlinatella. He shared a photo on Twitter on Friday night, June 26:

Fallon also tweeted that he is doing well and expressed his gratitude to his fans for their well wishes. The 40-year-old host also added that he is "drugged" and "blessed," according to Daily Mail.

Jimmy Fallon's publicist shared that the host's injury required him to have minor surgery on his hand after the incident. His show was also cancelled on Friday due to the accident.

As soon as the show's management learned of Jimmy Fallon's injury, they tweeted immediately to let his fans know that the show's taping had been canceled. The management also announced that the host is doing fine and that they will be playing a re-run in its place, the INQUISTR reports. Fans who have purchased tickets for the upcoming shows were advised to wait for notification for rescheduling.

In a CBS News interview with a fellow Scanlinatella employee Diego, the worker claimed that the host's hospitalization was not caused by any food or drink poisoning. Jimmy Fallon's injury reportedly has nothing to do with his night out on Thursday. Diego added that the host only usually drinks a glass or half of wine.
