'Batman vs Superman' Cast & Plot: Chris Pine or Tyrese Gibson to Play Green Lantern Character?

In the upcoming "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" movie, the original seven of the Justice League is expected to be seen, and rumors are circulating that Chris Pine will play Green Lantern. There are also rumors circulating online that Pine is doing negotiations with Warner Bros. to play the role of Steve Tremor, who is Wonder Woman's love interest in Patty Jenkins' "Wonder Woman," which will be released in 2017.

According to Christian Today, most of the actors and actresses that are expected to portray the league members have already been named; however, there is still no confirmation as to who will play Green Lantern. If the rumors are true, Pine will be co-starring along Ben Affleck, who will play Batman, and Henry Cavill, who will reprise his role as Superman. Other cast members include Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Ezra Miller as The Flash.

Pine is best known for his role as Captain Kirk in J.J. Abrams' action films "Star Trek" and "Star Trek Into Darkness." It was earlier reported that he will be reprising his role in the upcoming third installment of "Star Trek" in "Star Trek 3," which will reportedly be directed by "Furious 5" director Justin Lin. He is also set to appear in director David Mackenzie's crime drama film "Comancheria" and Craig Gillespie's drama thriller film, "The Finest Hours."

According to Collider, Chris Pine is also the frontrunner to play the role of Hal Jordan in the reboot of the movie "Green Lantern." Initial reports also revealed that there will also be another human lantern named John Stewart. Rumors claim that John Stewart will be played by "Fast and Furious" star Tyrese Gibson.

"Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set to premiere in U.S. theaters on March 25, 2016 while "Justice League Part 1" is set to debut on November 17, 2017.
