Recent reports suggest that Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., a video game publisher based in Japan, will announce its new video game, "Tekken 7," next week. This comes after a post from Tekken's official Twitter account hinted that the company is brewing something big for its avid gamers, Techtimes reported on Monday.
"On Tuesday, July 7, 2015, there will be a major announcement from the Tekken project, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. Please look forward to it. #Tekken7," the tweet reads.
"Tekken," a blockbuster video game arcade series in Japan, can reportedly compete with Capcom's video games because of its intricate 3D fighter franchise, unusual gaming characters, juggles, and unique movements. However, it achieved only moderate success in the U.S. despite its massive success in Japan, Techtimes noted. If Bandai Namco Entertainment will push through with the plan, more details about "Tekken 7" will reportedly be revealed come Tuesday.
Meanwhile, an online report from Attack of the Fan Boy said that avid fans of the "Tekken" video game have been expecting a new announcement from game developer Bandai Namco. Unfortunately, the company skipped the 2015 E3 Event in Los Angeles, which reportedly left many of the gamers frustrated. There was no related announcement made as to the console version of the "Tekken 7" video game. The report added that "Tekken 7" has been already rolled out in Japan since February and March this year.
Speculations have surfaced that Bandai Namco is planning to release "Tekken 7" for the PS4 and Xbox One gaming consoles. The game will also be using the Unreal Engine 4, which makes it entirely incompatible with the PS3 and Xbox 360 video game consoles.
On the other hand, Gameranx reported that there is a possibility that "Tekken 7" will be available on PC, as Harada, a Steam user, hinted. However, all these remain as speculations until Bandai Namco Entertainment issues an official announcement next week.
