Comics giant Marvel Worldwide Inc. has announced on Tuesday that the company is planning to relaunch a new "Amazing Spider-Man" comic series. The series will have new concepts, costumes and a Spider Mobile, a report from Techtimes said.
An alleged cover of the new "Amazing Spider-Man" has been leaked, and as Techtimes noted, the wall-crawler hero is definitely making a comeback in both movies and comics. The leaked comic cover was titled "Amazing Spider-Man #1" and has a tagline that reads, "Your friendly neighborhood just got bigger." The photo shows a male actor that looks similar to Andrew Garfield who portrayed the role of Spider-Man in the last two movies.
A report from IGN described Marvel's new comic series as "high-tech" because it will be under the direction of Alex Cross, a legendary artist. The "Amazing-Spider Man" storyline and script will be penned by known writer Dan Slott and comic artist Giuseppe Camuncoli.
"Peter Parker has stepped up. He's grown. He's become the Peter Parker we've always hoped he was going to be. ...This company, with Peter's inventions and Peter's gumption has gone to new heights," Slott told MTV as quoted in the IGN report. He stressed that the new "Amazing Spider-Man" comic series will showcase a different Spider-man that's both an "entrepreneur and inventor."
"He's operating with Parker Industries in not just New York, but also Shanghai and San Francisco and London. He's going to be a far more global Spider-Man, and with that is going to come all new global threats. Things that will really test Spider-Man like never before," Slott explained.
As mentioned, avid fans of the "Amazing Spider-Man" comic series will get to see Spider-man's vehicle, the Spider Mobile. The Spider Mobile will sport a newly redesigned look. Spider-man's vehicle also has the capability to crawl on walls and will reportedly navigate first the streets of Shanghai in China.
The "Amazing-Spider Man #1" will arrive in retail stores on October this year, according to IGN.
