When Forbes released the official list of this year's Celebrity 100, naming Katy Perry as the highest paid musician in the world and also featuring the artist on the magazine's July cover, the singer celebrated the momentous event with a Taco Bell treat!
Katy Perry took to Instagram on Monday to share with her 22.9 million followers how she celebrated the Forbes honor. "Don't think that I didn't celebrate this moment by going straight to Taco Bell and getting my crunch wrap supreme," wrote Perry, who also uploaded a photo of her latest cover with the magazine.
According to E!News, this isn't the first time that the "Roar" singer enjoyed Taco Bell. In April, Perry waited in lengthy line to get a few of her favorite snacks, and even shared the moment on social media. "You can take the girl out of America but you can't take the Taco Bell out of the girl, okuurrr," she wrote on Instagram. "Also there was an hour wait fer it...Tokyo knows what's up!"
Perry's Instagram message posted Monday though was not only meant to share the celebration with her fans, but also to convey a motivational and inspiring message to other women. The singer stated that before accepting the offer to be on Forbes' magazine cover, Perry was told that a lot of women had previously refused to do it. "I wondered if it was because they thought socially it would look like they were flaunting or bragging or it wasn't a humble decision," she wrote. "Ladies, there is a difference between being humble and working hard to see the fruits of your labor blossom, and your dreams realized." The musician finished her post with an inspiring note for women, telling them to be proud of hard earned success and that there is "no shame in being a boss."
In an interview with Forbes magazine, the "Fireworks" crooner also revealed how honored she was to be featured on the publication, and proud to show the world her success. "I'm not here to brag," said Perry. "I'm here to inspire other females... I'm really happy to be on the cover as a strong female who has created her own career."
Katy Perry came in at number 3 among the list of 100 celebrities, but nabbed the top spot of highest paid musicians and highest paid women celebrities.
