Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garnersplits after 10 years in marriage

After ten years in marriage, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have called it quits, according to the new report from Radar Online.

In the previous article from Radar Online, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck were living increasingly separate lives as they resorted to desperate last-ditch attempts to save their dying nearly ten-year marriage.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children, whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time," the couple mentioned, as cited in the newest article of Radar Online.

They continued, "This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for your understanding."

An insider source from Fox News mentioned that Garner was looking at the break up as an opportunity to move out from under Affleck's shadow and revive her acting career. The source said, "Jen is excited to get back to work. She took a step back to focus on her marriage and family but wants to return to making more movies."

An article from People reported that the couple often enjoyed family time together at home in Los Angeles where they were frequently spotted on carpool, coffee and after-school activity outings with their brood. Over the years, their marriage was subject of inquiry.

A source tells E! News, "Things have been very challenging for the last several months." The source also added that the two were still "together" for the children but notes that they "have been living separate lives and preparing for this for a long time."

An insider told Radar that Garner wanted to fight for full custody of their children, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6 and Samuel, 2.

Affleck and Garner married in 2005 after meeting on the set of "Daredevil."
