'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' Release Date, News: Get to Know Sequel's Title; How Chris Pratt Pranked the Director

Although the release date of the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie is still light years away on May 5, 2017, a Marvel fan can never be too excited to hear the latest news about the movie - this time, James Gunn dropped the bomb about its upcoming title.

In his Facebook page, Gunn revealed that the title will be "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." He posted a photo of what looks like the movie's screenplay, with the caption:

"Yes, the official title of the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Kevin Feige recently let the title slip while doing Ant-Man press, which I'm really happy about because God knows I've let more than one thing slip accidentally while chattering away on this FB page."

"Also, hats off to some intrepid fans who figured out the title a couple of days after I posted the cover page. More than one person guessed 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' - I wanted so badly to give you props at the time, but knew I had to wait."

Other than the Iron Man movies, Guardians of the Galaxy will be among the rare movies that Marvel has allowed to add numbers in the sequel titles. In this case, the title is clearly in reference to the mix tape of Chris Pratt's Peter Quill/ Star Lord.

And speaking of Chris Pratt, the star just recently won an acting award at the Saturn Awards. The highlight, however, is how he pulled a prank on friend and director Gunn.

Gunn accepted the speech on behalf of Pratt, wherein he promised to read out the actor's acceptance speech word-for-word. And here was how the letter went:

"James Gunn is the future. He's a genius," the director laughingly read out. "I tried every day to do just one thing, give myself over to the creative vision of the same man who is up there on that, on that stage now, accepting this award on my behalf."

"And ladies, he is single, I think. Right? Are you? We haven't talked in a couple weeks. Doesn't matter, he is single tonight. I'd like to open the bidding at $1 for James.

"James, are you red? Ask the audience if you are red. Wait, you have to read this verbatim because if you don't, that's illegal," Gunn read as the audience laughed. "My name is James Gunn. Am I red?"
