Having guests around for dinner? Or maybe you just want to show your place to your friends or neighbors? But just when they're about to arrive, you forgot one tiny detail - your house is dirty.
This might not be the exact scenario, but in any case, if you're in a rush to clean or to organize your place, here are quick cleaning tips to help, courtesy of Better Decorating Bible.
1. Always have your tools in one place.
Getting your broom from here, your vacuum there, and your mop elsewhere already takes up a ton of minutes from your cleaning time. This is why remember to gather, organize, and keep your cleaning materials in one area only. You can store them in a closet, cabinet, basket, or in any dry container. If you can, labelling your container with the names of the items inside is also a good idea.
2. Insert the element of time.
A lot of people tend to make this error when they're in a hurry of cleaning-lose track of time. Because every minute counts for you, you need to set a specific time limit per room or per area. For instance, set a timer for around five to ten minutes per room. When the alarm goes off, it signals you to move to another area. This way, you are impelled to budget your cleaning time efficiently.
3. Have a cleaning pattern
"When cleaning a room, start from one side of it then end on its last corner," the article advised. You need to form a pattern when cleaning that will make sure that you have covered every nook and cranny, or atleast all the corners of an area. You can clean from top to bottom, bottom to top, clockwise, or counter-clockwise.
4. Spray, then wipe.
One of the fastest cleaning methods is the old spray-and-wipe technique. Simply fill your spray bottle with disinfectant, grab a rug or cloth, spray on walls and surfaces, and then wipe. If there are stubborn dirt, you can mix vinegar and water or alcohol and liquid soap with water.
