Is there something more than just sweet music between Selena Gomez and Ed Sheeran? Rumors has it that the two are 'getting along' very well after fate brought them together night of June 25 and they might just have Justin Bieber to thank for it, Hollywood Life has the deets.
The 'Good for You' singer and Ed were out having a good time with friends at Tori Kelly's album launch at The Nice Guy in Los Angeles. The two even had dinner together before coming to the event. But as the night unfolded, Justin Bieber showed up and this surely put Selena off-guard. Sources say the two didn't even say hi to each other and just went into an awkward run-in.
Thankfully, the 'Thinking Out Loud' singer was at Selena's side the entire time. Because of the unexpected 'visitor', the 22-year-old singer apparently asked Ed if he would accompany her and leave the party; to which the British artist happily obliged. So sweet!
"Selena's only ever seen Ed as a friend, but she's warming up to the idea that there could be more there," a source close to the former Disney star revealed. "She definitely enjoys spending time with him."
"She told Ed she couldn't deal and asked if he'd leave with her and he totally had Selena's back," the source said.
After sneaking out just a few moments after Biebs appeared in the scene, the two dropped by a 7-eleven where they browsed the shelves and chatted before heading out to Selena's house where they spent the rest of the night, metro.co.uk reports.
Taylor Swift, a close friend of the two and the one who introduced them to each other back in 2013, have always expressed how she wants Selena and Ed to write music together. "It was Taylor that suggested the pair team up," a source told HollywoodLife.com. "She had so much success with Ed on her Red album, and thinks he'd be a perfect songwriting partner for Selena. Taylor will always be thankful to Ed for helping her hone her talents, and knows how talented he is to be able to help Selena out too."
Sweet music or sweet love, we just have to wait and see. What we know is that both of them are very single and deserve to be happy in love.
