What Is It Like To Be The ‘Ben Affleck?’

The two-time Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Ben Affleck knows what it's like to be on the spotlight. Ben Affleck became famous for his starring role in 1997's smash hit "Good Will Hunting." However, his life is a mixture of highs and lows.

People mentioned that Ben Affleck became a household name when he-as a kid- was on educational shows aired by PBS (Public Broadcasting Service). He was later chosen for a Burger King commercial in 1989. He played supporting roles for films like "Dazed and Confused" prior to catching a break for his 1997 lead role in "Chasing Amy." Ben Affleck got this lead role because he was able to build ties with writer-director Kevin Smith in his 1995 movie "Mallrats." But prior to his stardom in "Good Will Hunting," he also starred in 7 other movies.

Before the 1997 ended, "Good Will Hunting" became a hit. It was known that "Good Will Hunting" was co-written by Affleck and was a film 5-year in the making, alongside best friend Matt Damon.

Later on, Ben Affleck proved himself as a certified leading man through his main casting for the movies "Armageddon" (1998) and "Pearl Harbor" (2001). In 2002, he then started to date Jennifer Lopez in which the pair was dubbed as "Bennifer." The relationship seemed to make them a more celebrated couple for about a year, and planned a wedding in 2003. However, they called it quits four days before the scheduled date of union.

Affleck might have enjoyed the spotlight but he also has shares of negative criticism from media and fans. Celebrity Auction explained that Affleck's career hit its trying times in 2003. He failed to dazzle critics in his performance in "Daredevil." He told "Playboy" magazine that it was the only movie he regretted. But it wasn't the only one that was heavily criticized by media and fans, his movie "Gigli" with JLo was not spared by ridicule.

In 2007, Ben Affleck took a good turn in his rebooted career. His directorial debut movie "Gone Baby Gone" was much acclaimed. Another major success followed when he did "Argo," which won the Best Picture at the Oscar in 2013.

WeBlog said that today, Affleck is occupied with his upcoming movie "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" aside from his ongoing work for Eastern Congo Initiative, a non-profit organization that helps the crisis in the eastern Congo.

While his career is continuously soaring, it is not beyond everyone's knowledge that Affleck is being bombarded with rumors concerning his marriage with Jennifer Garner especially early this year. Then, 2 days ago, both announced that they are heading for divorce after their 10th wedding anniversary.
