Social media giant Facebook said on Wednesday that someday people will be able to send their thoughts and ideas "telephatically" via social media networking sites. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO, revealed this plan as one of the company's vision in the near future, a report from Techtimes said.
"One day, I believe we'll be able to send full rich thoughts to each other directly using technology. You'll just be able to think of something and your friends will immediately be able to experience it too, if you'd like. This would be the ultimate communication technology," Zuckerberg said as quoted in the Techtimes report.
Zuckerberg has offered his futuristic view during the one hour-long Question and Answer session on Tuesday with Facebook users. As Techtimes noted, Facebook has reportedly changed the way people communicate with one another. In fact, the company has actually improved its native messaging platform, the Messenger, through additional services.
In a report from Telegraph UK, Zuckerberg emphasized that Facebook is aiming to improve its communication service platform, apparently to enhance people's lives. "Our lives improve as our communication tools get better in many ways. We can build richer relationships with the people we love and care about. We know about what's going on in the world and can make better decisions in our jobs and lives," Zuckerberg said.
"We are also more informed and can make better decisions collectively as a society. This increase in the power people have to share is one of the major forces driving the world today," Zuckerberg continued as quoted in the Telegraph UK report.
Zuckerberg also pointed out that there are more important trends in the human communication that Facebook wants to improve. He added that there will come a point in man's history that video will be more than, if not equally, important than photos.
