No matter how late you are, if you were Beyoncé, your post on social media accounts to celebrate same sex-marriage would still become a hit. According to the Daily Mail, the 17-second clip of the 33-year old pop diva, which was shared on Wednesday, gathered a combined 784,000 likes on her Instagram, Facebook and YouTube accounts.
ET Online reports that the video features a lot of costume changes. In the first part of the clip, she wears a rainbow-colored bikini with a cape, which she waves up and down. She then continues with a Wildfox pink sweater with a rainbow print on it, followed by a green jersey with a "Girl Power" writing. As if to further confirm her support to marriage equality, she also waves a rainbow flag. The video clip also shows her in rainbow angel wings and throwing confetti in the air before she emerges in a rainbow fringe dress.
Next she shows herself in a one-piece rainbow swimsuit and colorful wigs. Before the short video clip ends, Beyonce appears again in a cape, wearing a rainbow mask while also carrying some dumbells.
According to Daily Mail, the rainbow flag is reminiscent of the symbolic LGBT (lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender) flag.
Last Friday, June 26, the U.S. Supreme Court announced the legalization of same-sex marriage nationwide. NBC News reported that the High Court declared that refusal to grant marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples violates the Constitution. The court voted 5-4 in a decision written by Justice Anthony Kennedy.
Following the Supreme Court decision, some Hollywood stars rejoiced, turning to Twitter with their statements with the hashtag #LoveWins, #rebelheartsunite and #MarriageEquality. One of them was Ellen DeGeneres who tweeted "Love won. #MarriageEquality." Madonna also tweeted "Finally And at Last! The Revolution of Love has Begun!.." Meanwhile, Lady Gaga in her Twitter account five days ago showed a photo of her and a friend with the caption, "Popcorn for pride at work with @faspiras. He's so happy and I'm so happy he's so happy."
