East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) is set to receive a delivery of blooms and bouquets on Sunday, as flowers brought by well-wishers to Princess Charlotte's christening will be donated to the hospice charity that Kate Middleton supports.
Prince William and Princess Kate previously announced that the paddock at St. Mary Magdalene Church, near the Queen's Sandringham estate, will be open to well-wishers during Princess Charlotte's christening. Fans can greet the royal family beginning 3pm on Sunday, reports Hello! magazine, and any flowers left by warm wishers will be donated to East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH).
Graham Butland, EACH Chief Executive, said in a statement that the charity was "honoured" to receive flowers from Princess Charlotte's christening and will be distributing them to "hospices for our families, volunteers and staff to enjoy." Butland further stated, "Her Royal Highness has shown great dedication to the role of Royal Patron, raising awareness and understanding of our services and we're incredibly grateful for all the support the charity has received."
Kate Middleton became a royal patron of the charity hospice in January 2012. The hospice is very close to Princess Kate's heart, having been involved in raising awareness for the children's hospice movement, as well as supporting fundraising efforts for EACH, states People. In November of last year, the 33 year old royal supported the launch of EACH's campaign to raise funds for a new children's hospice in Norfolk. Two months prior Princess Charlotte's arrival, Princess Kate also visited the Emma Bridgewater factory, a pottery factory that has been involved in a fundraising project with EACH. During the visit, the royal even hand painted mugs with colorful designs, set to be sold to raise money for the children's hospice.
Meanwhile, Sunday's royal christening will be happy family day for Prince William and Princess Kate. Princess Charlotte will be baptized by the Archbishop of Canterbury, with the royal family and the Middletons attending the ceremony. Unfortunately, Prince Harry won't be able to attend, as he is currently on a three month conservation trip in Africa.
