Johnny Depp Net Worth: ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Star Restores French Village, Sells The Property For $26M

Johnny Depp lists his 37-acre property in the South of France for sale for close to $26 million. The property, which used to be the Provencal village, was lovingly restored by the actor who spent no less than $10 million on renovations.

The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star purchased his Plan de la Tour estate in 2001 which features stone built houses dating back more than 200 years ago, reports the Los Angeles Times. The French estate is located 17 miles from Saint Tropez and has more than a dozen structures which includes a main house, several guest cottages, a chapel, a bar and restaurant, a workshop and a staff house.

The main house is a 10,760 square foot Bohemian-style home, which contains more than 12 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. The expansive property also has a hunter's cabin, a painter's studio, a children's playroom and a gym. Depp also converted an old church into a guesthouse, and designed a pirate inspired wine-cellar fit for Jack Sparrow.

Depp's family retreat is surrounded by acres of gently sloping grounds with vineyards and olive trees. The property also boasts of several activity areas, such as a large swimming pool surrounded by sand, as smaller swimming pool and a skateboard area.

Since buying the property 14 years ago, the star decorated and restored each of the building all by himself, states E!News. The listing agent, Sotheby's Alexander Kraft, explained that an interior designer has never touched it. He said, "Contrary to many other properties of major international celebrities, Johnny Depp's estate has not been decorated by an interior designer, but by Johnny himself. As a consequence, the estate is not a ritzy showplace, but an utterly charming family home that truly reflects Johnny Depp's unique character and taste."

Potential buyers and Johnny Depp fans alike would also be happy to know that the sale includes some of the actor's possessions, as confirmed by Kraft. "The asking price actually includes all of the property's furniture and a great number of personal belongings of Johnny Depp. Thus, the purchaser will be able to not only acquire an exceptional property, but also many personal items of one of the greatest stars of our times," said the agent.

The sale of Johnny Depp's French village will be handled by Côte d'Azur Sotheby's International Realty as the listing agent. Tony Mark of Sotheby's International Realty in Malibu was the referring agent.
