Right after Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's divorce announcement last Tuesday, July 7, the couple was spotted vacationing in the Bahamas with their children the next day. People were astonished, but the family's getaway is reportedly something that should not be misinterpreted.
While Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's divorce is on the hype, they are doing everything to protect their kids from bad publicity regarding their split. The couple was seen spending time with their precious kids, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3, at a private Bahamas resort on Wednesday, July 8.
"It was important for both Ben and Jen to get away from the media spotlight and spend quiet time with the kids. They have been spending a lot of time with the kids. This has been hard for everyone, but they are both doing everything to put the kids first," a source said, according to Yahoo.
An insider revealed that it was not easy for the couple to split up, but they have to do it as easy as possible for the kids. Witnesses revealed that Affleck was seen looking more affected with their separation while Garner seemed to be more relaxed and in high spirits.
News came out that the two have been living as strangers for nearly 10 months. Following Affleck and Garner's divorce announcement, several rumors swirled around the Internet on how the couple was struggling to live together despite their irreconcilable differences.
Affleck was reportedly not wearing his wedding ring for a couple of months already, Radar Online reports. Perez Hilton adds that he was also living on his own in a hotel for the past 10 months.
The couple was not the first one who have taken their kids off to Bahamas after a controversial split. Last year, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have also done the same thing following their divorce announcement also after their 10 years of marriage.
Affleck and Garner's divorce announcement came a day after the couple's supposed 10-year anniversary. In a joint statement they said that they intend to "go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time."
