Princess Charlotte Christening: Royal Siblings Wear Replica Outfits

Their royal cuteness Prince George and Princess Charlotte wore replica outfits during the christening of England's newest royal family member. According to Daily Mail, Princess Charlotte wore a copy of an 1841 design baptismal gown made for Queen Victoria. It is the same Honiton lace gown worn by her elder brother Prince George during his baptism.

However, Prince George was not the first one to use the replica of the christening gown. Since 2008, when James Viscount Severn was baptized, the replicated gown has reportedly been the one being used in all royal family baptisms, including that of Lord Frederick Windsor's daughter Maud, and Zara Tindall's little girl Mia.

The valued baptismal gown, which is now reportedly being preserved, was designed in 1841. The original gown was used by Queen Victoria's eldest daughter and it was also used for all the following royal baptisms until Lady Louise Windsor's in 2004. That also includes the christening of the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge, and Prince Harry, among others.

The newer gown which has the same lengthy skirt and elaborate collars and bow was created by the Queen's dresser Angela Kelly.

During Princess Charlotte's christening, Prince George wore a white and red outfit that is almost exactly like the ensemble his dad Prince William wore 30 years ago. In a separate report, Daily Mail said that Princess Charlotte's big brother wore a design by Rachel Riley.

The white shirt with red embroidery and the red short pants are almost identical to the outfit worn by Prince William when he visited his newborn brother Harry at the hospital a few decades ago. The only obvious difference in Prince George's outfit and his dad's is the latter's white shirt had more embroidery while the younger prince's short pants have white matching buttons at the waistband.

Prince George arrived during Princess Charlote's baptism holding his father's hand and treated the waiting crowd with a wave while his little sister was in a pram pushed by the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate.
