LG Nexus 5 2015 Specs: Device To Be Released in August, Measures 5.3 Inches, Features Android M [RUMORS]

Rumors have it that Google's upcoming Nexus 5 is slated to be released this August. The rumored Google Nexus 5's August release date could reportedly be also the launch date of Google's Android M, Techtimes reported on Saturday.

The report said that Google has partnered with LG to work on the smaller version of Nexus 5. It added that a joint product launch will likely happen, but it was not clear though which among the two devices will become Google's standard bearer and its newest flagship mobile phone.

A related report from Geeksnack has revealed that Google's Nexus 5 will be the company's flagship device and will be powered by Android M, which industry commentators speculate as either "Macadamia, Marshmallow or Muffin."

According to the same report, the rumored Google Nexus 5 comes with a 5.3-inch display screen. The device will be powered by Snapdragon 810 processor and will have a 3 GB Random Access Memory (RAM), a USB Type C, and a removable and energy-efficient battery. The Nexus 5's rear camera will sport 16 MP as well as a storage capacity of 64 to 128 GB.

Gospel Herald, meanwhile, reported that Google's Android M was earlier announced during this year's Google I/O Conference. Android M was branded as the successor of Google's Android Lollipop mobile operating system. The company, as the report noted, has given only limited details about it as of the moment but will likely provide more details as the launch date nears.

What is clear though is that Google is seriously working to improve the security features and improve the battery life of the upcoming smartphone. It can be recalled that as early as May, a report cited that Android M will be shipped on the third quarter of 2015, hinting a possibility that Android M will be publicly available from the month of July to September, which is contrary to the usual November launch month schedule of Google.
