Gio Gonzalez is selling his Southwest Ranches Florida estate for $1.69 million. According to his listing agent, Renata Jernigan of The Agency Luxe, the starting pitcher for the Washington Nationals bought the place in 2012 because he wanted to have some time for himself for the off-season.
The place first went up for sale in August 2014 for $1.95 million. The property experienced several price cuts, but it is reported that Gonzales has already decided that $1.69 will be the final price for the place.
According to Realtor, the 7,424-square-foot ranch house sits on over five acres of land and features a pool. The pool starts at the back of the main level, which has marble floors, and then curves under a large open doorway. It also has an automatic door that slides down whenever the area is needed to be kept close. The pool is also a feet away from the kitchen, which allows anyone to quickly get a snack before jumping into the water. The pool also has a built-in table, which sticks just above the surface.
The house has a total of six bedrooms and six full bathrooms and also a large covered deck perfect for entertaining guests. On the outside, there is also a full sport court for hoops or tennis.
The 29-year-old all-star pitcher is a Florida native, and according to his listing agent, he is also currently looking for a place that is closer to the water.
Before Gonzalez pitched for the Washington Nationals, he played for the Oakland Athletics. According to Spotrac, Gonzalez has signed a five-year, $42-million contract with the Washington Nationals, which includes a $500,000 signing bonus. He has an annual salary of $8,400,000. This year, he will earn a base salary of $11 million and now has a cap hit of $11.1 million.
