GoPro is slated to release the new $400 Hero 4 Session camcorder, which is the smallest, lightest and easiest-to-use camera it's ever produced. The GoPro Hero 4 Session camera will be released on July 12 and it reportedly looks very similar to a Polaroid cube, another tiny cubed action camera, a Yahoo report stated on Tuesday.
As Yahoo noted, the GoPro Hero 4 Session action camera is half the size of the previous GoPro Hero 4 Black and Silver models, which makes it 40 percent lighter. GoPro Hero 4 Session reportedly has a rugged design, which makes it water-resilient up to 33 feet, without a need to separate it from its casing. The GoPro Hero 4 Session, as the company claims, is compatible with existing mounts. It comes with three various mounts: a Low-Profile Frame, a Standard Frame and a Ball Joint Buckle.
GoPro Hero 4 Session uses a single shutter button that enables users to quickly shoot both photos and video. Users can simply press the button to start recording a video. GoPro's new action camera also has an auto image rotation, which provides users flexibility in using the camera in various orientations. Recorded photos and videos are automatically stored in MicroSD cards, according to Yahoo.
Mashable reports that GoPro Hero 4 Session can actually record a video with a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution at 60 frames per second and 1920 x 1440 at up to 30 fps (Ultra Wide mode). The GoPro Hero 4 Session also shoots with 8-megapixel photos at up to 10 fps in burst mode and time-lapses.
It was also reported that the Session has the same features found in the GoPro Silver and Black models. For instance, the action camera has a built-in Wi-Fi, a Bluetooth, SuperView, Protune, Auto Low Light recording modes, dual microphones and an optional remote.
