"Married at First Sight" Season 3 is still up in the air following controversies surrounding its couples from the previous seasons. While the reality series' future remains uncertain, there has been several speculations that the new show on FYI, "Seven Year Switch" may serve as a better replacement for the controversial series.
"Married at First Sight" Season 3 remains uncertain following a series of unsuccessful marriage and controversies surrounding couples from its first two seasons, but fans of the FYI reality series are treated with a brand new show on TV titled, "Seven Year Switch." According to Flavor Wire, the new series is dedicated to saving a couple's marriage from falling apart.
"'Switch' focuses on four married couples who have been together for a while (the title refers to the seven-year-itch period within marriages, a time when some tend to decline) but are experiencing problems," the outlet noted.
These couples will be then switching partners that have been specifically paired by the show's "relationship experts." These experts have reportedly paired these new partners based on their personality traits. These new couples will then live together for two weeks to see if staying under the same roof with someone who shares the same personality traits is better than having someone on the opposite pole.
Meanwhile, Variety noted that "Seven Year Switch" does "not only tap into the emotion of a struggling marriage but also inspire viewers to contemplate their own lives, and the producers provide plenty of helpful musical cues to tell the audience how they should feel."
The outlet cited that the show is seemingly banking on the success of its new reality series based on the ratings that other similar programs such as "Married at First Sight," "Wife Swap" and "The Bachelor" have received from viewers.
"Seven Year Switch" premieres on Tuesday, July 7 on FYI.
