Pride of the U.S.A: U.S Women's Soccer Team is the First Country to Win the World Championship Thrice in History

The U.S. Women's Soccer Team is now on the celebratory mode as they have brought home the bacon to the U.S. The team had defeated Japan in a breath-taking 5-2 game held last Sunday in Vancouver, Canada. Carli Lloyd's determination and spirit made them the greatest team in women's international soccer, as reported by the In Style news.

It was the U.S.'s third Women's Cup title, following the steps of the former U.S. team in the year 1991 and 1999, which made the America the first country to win the world championship three times.

According to the news reported by the In Style, Tobin Heath's goal in the 54th minute and Louren Holiday for the fourth shot gave a huge advantage to their team. It was Carli Lloyd's presence that made the U.S. team glow as she made a three goals in the finals and accomplished them in the first 16 minutes of the game. The hat trick gave the Americans a three-point lead against Japan and all but ensure that they are the reigning champions in town.

In her recent interview as quoted by ABC News, Lloyd visualized herself scoring "four or five" goals in the World Cup finals. She was said to be super excited for the World Cup and had a statement regarding their recent victory. She stated, "We didn't come here to take second place, we came here to win it and there was something different in the air with these last few games with our team."

"I think we all believed. We all knew it; we felt it and what a convincing wins today to get it done."

Her sportsmanship became popular and praised as she was seen giving her captain's armband to Abby Wambach, the team veteran, when she was subbed in during the final minutes of the game.

Lloyd believes that Wambach deserves that arm band and said that she's been a legend and became an inspiration on and off the field for the team for so many years, and proudly claimed that she is Wambach's friend and teammate as well, added the ABC News.

Time to have a party in the USA! The US Women's Soccer Team truly deserves to be called 'Pride of the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave'.
