'Scream Queens' TV Cast & Spoilers: Keke Palmer Teases New Season, Says It Will Be As 'Brutal' As 'American Horror Story' Season 5 'Hotel'

"Scream Queens" star Keke Palmer recently talked about the upcoming series and compared it with Fx's "American Horror Story" Season 5 titled "Hotel." In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Palmer confirmed that Ryan Murphy's "Scream Queens" will be just as dark as "American Horror Story."

"Actually, he is. I think that he is keeping that same, heightened, extreme grounded-ness. How he does it, I have no idea. But that is very much so a part of 'Scream Queens.' And also, the comedy. He finds the balance in light and dark. It's fun to play," she said about Murphy and the new show.

Meanwhile, Palmer, who is a self-confessed "American Horror Story" fan, confirmed that she has seen all seasons of Murphy's and said that Season 1 instantly became her favorite.

"I loved season one, and I was like, 'If I ever got a chance to work with this guy, it would be so cool and fun because he's so creative! That's what you want as an actor - to be pushed," she said.

Talking about Murphy, Palmer said that the series creator has been doing a really good job at conceptualizing different stories for the show. According to her, Murphy doesn't really like to play by the rules because he loves to switch up things.

In other news, Murphy confirmed that the upcoming premiere will feature the return of the survivors. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Murphy explained, "It's similar to 'American Horror Story' in that it's anthological but different in that at the end of the first season there will only be four characters out of 25 left. And those four in season 2 will go on to a new horror genre - like a sorority is a horror genre to me, it's a place where there were horror movies in the '80s like 'Sorority Row' - and they will go on. That's the format of the show."

"Scream Queens" will premiere in the fall.
