"Empire" Season 2 will air in just a few more months and there are rumors that Kelly Rowland will be joining the cast. According to E! News, Rowland has been tapped to join the hit Fox series but not as Lucious Lyon's newest love interest. Rather, Rowland will be playing the role of Lucious' mother in a flashback.
The writers of "Empire" also posted a tweet addressed to Rowland, thanking the singer/actress for meeting up with them. This has led fans at that time to speculate that Rowland will indeed join the cast of "Empire" Season 2.
Rowland is not the only new confirmed addition to "Empire." Earlier this month, Oscar winner Marisa Tomei was tapped to play the role of a venture capitalist who also happens to be a lesbian.
Meanwhile, the success of "Empire" will reportedly bring about a more exciting Season 2. In the upcoming installment, more twists and troubles will be faced by the Lyon family and each of its members, according to KPopStarz.
In a previous interview, Jussie Smollett, who plays the role of Jamal Lyon, teased the upcoming installment and said, "Season one - it's that times 20 million. I keep joking that we'll make season one look like 'The Brady Bunch' because it's a lot. It's going there, for sure."
During a separate interview with Entertainment Tonight, Terrence Howard, who plays the role of the Lyon matriarch, also talked about the upcoming second season. "The second season, we're going to find out what turned Lucious into who he is, and he's going to clean up some messes that were left in the last episode," he said.
"Empire" Season 2 will see the return of Raven Symone and Naomi Campbell. The upcoming installment will also introduce new guest stars, namely Chris Rock, Alicia Keys and more.
