'Avatar 2' Movie Release Date & Plot: Pre-Production in High Gear, Scripts Completed

The scripts for the next "Avatar" movies are complete, and preparations before the actual filming are now in high gear. According to Master Herald, with the scripts for the three sequels completed, the crew is now busy for pre-production.

The report quoting producer and director James Cameron said that the production people are now designing creatures, settings, and characters that are part of the three films. Jim Gianopulos, 20th Century Fox CEO, said that Cameron has been building out the Avatar world in a room which is filled with images, characters, worlds, settings and other details for the films.

He said that those are the most amazing and breathtaking things one would ever see in his lifetime and the challenge for Cameron is to put all of them in the three films. Gianopulos also said that Cameron's another challenge is to keep within his tight schedule. He shared that Cameron already has all the pieces in place.

Cameron, on the other hand, said that he understands the pressure to deliver but he is not bothered by it as it is what he has faced during his entire career. The most difficult for Cameron, according to the report, is to cut out things in three sequels as he must not exceed more than three films, hinting that there are so many new and wonderful things to expect in the three movies.

As earlier reported, Cameron will be utilizing a new special technology to film the underwater scenes in the "Avatar" sequels. In the report, Master Herald said that there will be underwater scenes in "Avatar 2" which will be captured using an underwater motion capture technology exclusively for this purpose.

Co-producer Jon Landau said, "It's going to be like the Floating Mountains in the first movie. It's not going to be all underwater; it's going to be a place we go to, leave and come back to," he said.

"Avatar 2" is slated for release in Christmas 2017 which will be followed by "Avatar 3" and "Avatar 4" for on the same date in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
