'Daredevil' Netflix Series Season 2: Production Begins, First Set Photos Revealed

"Daredevil" Season 1 is still available for streaming in Netflix, but fans are now anticipating Season 2 as it starts filming. According to Screen Rant, some photographs revealed that the production of the season has already began in New York. Featured in the images are the cast members Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) back in action as they survey the street of Hell's Kitchen.

It has been earlier revealed that Murdock will face new villains and will also meet new heroes in Season 2. Rosario Dawson (Night Nurse) was also earlier reported to return to the show. However, it is still unconfirmed if Vincent D'Onfrio's sinister villain Wilson Fisk will be in Season 2.

According to reports, it is also possible that the first look on Jon Bernthal's character, Frank Castle/Punisher, could be coming sooner rather than later in the show. Season 2 was reportedly already described as "Daredevil vs. Punisher," which means that Castle will appear in a number of episodes.

Comic Book also revealed that Marvel and Netflix chose Elodie Yung to play Elektra Natchios for Season 2. Yung previously appeared in a number of films like "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" and "District 13: Ultimatum." Marvel earlier described Yung's character as a mysterious woman from Matt's past whose "dangerous and exotic ways may be more than he can handle."

Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb said that Yung was the perfect actress to embody the character's impressive and deadly physicality as well as her complex personality. Elektra is one of the characters in Marvel's comics, and it is known that she and Daredevil shared a romance, but the two eventually became close allies. This was also the role that Jennifer Garner played when she starred with ex-husband Ben Affleck in the movie "Daredevil."

"Daredevil" Season 2 is expected to be available on Netflix by 2016.
