Live in the house of dreams and fairy dust and relive the story of Wendy and Peter Pan. The Kensington mansion is called the "Leinster Corner" where J.M. Barrie wrote Peter Pan within its walls. It is located at London's Kensington Gardens and is currently for sale for a whopping price of £6,950,000 (just under $11 million), as reported by Curbed news.
According to the news reported by the Daily Mail, the mansion has seven bedrooms and three bathrooms and comes with its own blue plaque, which is a tribute to the author. Peter Pan devotees can easily picture Wendy in the stunning blue bedroom in one of the mansion's room that features heavy curtains and ornate cornicing. A unique façade can be also seen in the house to add more charm to the property.
The tiny pieces of broken mirror embedded into the brick façade---- appear to shimmer like as if it were coated in fairy dust. The interior properties of the mansion remained untouched since the time of Barrie are the door furnishings, the banister, the wall paneling and the fireplace.
The mansion has also other amenities, like two kitchens, a utility room, a scullery, wine cellar, terrace, garden and underground parking. A modern extension is also installed on the mansion that boasts every necessary accommodation for a luxurious family-friendly feel.
It has been fitted with state-of-the-art appliances to meet modern standards of comfort and utility. Leinster Corner was originally built in 1820 as half of one of four pairs of semi-detached, double fronted villas and it is part of the only surviving pair.
Kensington Gardens is a mere few blocks away with a Peter Pan statue reminiscent of the rich history that Leinster Corner holds. The property comes to about 5,000 square feet in total with a marvelous garden and terrace that provide much-needed space and privacy, the Daily Mail added.
