According to CNet, the newest technology breakthrough is the Hexoskin shirt, a shirt that can communicate with your smartphone to tell you vital information about your body.
The Hexoskin shirt however costs a little bit more than your average t-shirt, it costs around $400. The newest technology might not appeal with the general public, but it is making a huge noise in the sports industry.
Hexoskin CEO Pierre-Alexandre Fournier said that the shirt gives the owner data about them that you cannot easily get. The clothes are flustered by sensors that read vital information of your body and communicate with your smart devices such as phones and tablets.
On the other hand, Engadget, an online technology website, reported about clothing giant Ralph Lauren's own version of the smart shirt. The report said that the shirt will be officially dropped in the market this coming summer and it carries the same promise as what Hexoskin offers. The shirt is also made and targeted for athletes. The shirt promises to record track distances, workout intensity, and promote muscle recovery.
An infant's clothing line on the other hand is also offering a shirt that monitor's an infant's breathing, temperature, and sleep patterns while a Chinese sports apparel maker is currently developing a kid's shoe with a GPS tracker.
The smart shirt, apparently, is not only the clothing apparel that is breaking in the technology world. A French company was also reported to develop a smart belt that automatically adjusts to fit its owner's changing waistline.
At this point in time, smart wears are like designer clothes that not everyone can buy or wear. But, according to the experts in the industry, they will not be surprised if these smart wears will be an everyday use.
