'The Wire' Star Michael K. Williams To Star In Assasin's Creed And Ghostbusters

Michael K. Williams of The Wire and Boardwalk Empire will soon join both the Assassin's Creed and Ghostbusters films. Cinemablend reported that Williams is in talks for supporting parts in both movies, with the Paul Feig-coordinated Ghostbusters undertaking being his first need. As indicated by TheWrap, Williams' Ghostbusters character is named Hawkins.

Williams affirmed the throwing declaration today through Twitter, reacting emphatically to a fan inquiry about the news.

Director Justin Kurzel's Assassin's Creed film starts recording this fall and Williams will join Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard in the computer game adaptation.

Ghostbusters will headline SNL stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. The remake of the 1984 film will feature an all-female cast which is a not so usual twist of the original film. Ghostbusters will also star, aside from Williams, Andy Garcia and Cecily Strong.

Assasin's Creed and Ghostbusters is projected to hit the theaters in 2016.

In related news, RealtyToday earlier reported that Ghostbusters will feature an Avenger star as the fab four's secretary. The geeky secretary, according to the report, will be replaced by a hunky actor who yields a hammer in the Avenger films.

The Ghostbuster remake was in the pipeline for years and it was close to a done deal as the original director and three of the original four members agreed to reprise their roles. The only person who hindered the remake was the elusive Bill Murray. The talk died down due to the untimely death of Harold Ramis. With his death, director Riteman also pulled out that has made the remake back to the drawing board.

After painstaking meetings and talks, the remake again steamrolled and with a different perspective.
