Season 5 of the hit TV series "Once Upon A Time" doesn't start until September, but fans get an early treat of teasers and spoilers from the show's co-creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. The two recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly and answered fans' "burning questions" about the upcoming season of the show.
During the interview, one of the questions asked was, "Since we have a new Dark One, is there a new Savior this season?" to which the showrunners had different replies. While Kitsis responded with a definitive "sure is," Horowitz' reply of "That's a great question" was rather mysterious, as if he's still considering the idea.
Does that mean Emma (Jennifer Morrison) will stay as the Dark One for long? Who will be the new Savior if that happens?
Based on the interview, other characters may reportedly try to bring Emma back. Horowitz confirmed that Will Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Charming (Josh Dallas) will cross any lines to rescue Emma.
Meanwhile, since Emma's gone to the dark side in the last season, fans are wondering if Hook will also go back to the dark side. According to Enstars, Kitsis is hopeful that Hook doesn't go back to his old ways. "I think he has a great reason to stay good and that is to save the woman that he loves. I hope he holds on," she said.
The return of some characters in Season 5 was also discussed during the interview. According to Catermatt, the showrunners are interested in bringing back some characters from the previous seasons but it's reportedly still early to reveal who they are. The report states that Dr. Whale, Archie, Red, Mulan, and Aurora all still have a story left to tell in the show, so it would be interesting if some of them return.
"Once Upon a Time" Season 5 returns on ABC on September 27. It is expected to revolve around the story of Dark Swan and the search for Merlin.
