Before Chadwick Boseman plays his character as Black Panther in his solo movie, he is set to appear first in "Captain America: Civil War." According to International Business Times, Marvel President Kevin Feige said that is was their decision to introduce Black Panther in the movie before he films in the solo movie.
Feige added that the movie needed a character which has a neutral voice amid the battle between Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). According to reports, Black Panther will be introduced as an inexperienced hero in the movie. Comic Book reports that Feige previously revealed that Black Panther will leave Wakanda to be able to join the Avengers to help them protect and save the world.
Despite the other superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe taking to choose a side between the two Avengers in battle, the king of Wakanda will reportedly remain neutral and will only serve his home country's interest. Other reports also revealed that Black Panther will also act as a neutral mediator and will presumably provide Captain America and Iron Man with a reason to meet and discuss their respective cases.
Boseman is reported to be enjoying being part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is also preparing for his character's solo movie. It was also earlier reported that he signed a five-film deal with Marvel; however, the director and other cast members for the Black Panther movie is not yet known.
"Captain America: Civil War" will premiere on May 6, 2016 while "Black Panther" is scheduled for release in 2018. According to reports, the solo movie will revolve around T'Challa, who will take the role of the Black Panther after his father T'Chaka is killed. It was also reported that Marc Bailey has written the screenplay for the film and Feige is the producer.
