Faster memory performance is one of the key features of the soon-to-be-released OnePlus 2 smartphone, a report said. According to the International Business Times (IBT), OnePlus' official blog revealed that OnePlus 2 will feature 4GB of RAM. This has slammed down rumors that the smartphone will be released with only 3GB of RAM.
"It [LPDDR4] offers optimal support for power-saving low frequency mode that brings clock speeds down when performing those everyday and necessary tasks. LPDDR4 on the OnePlus 2 allows an even better user experience when using features such as slow-motion video, face recognition, and low-latency gaming -- features that typically use a lot of bandwidth and can cause heavy lagging," the OnePlus blog stated as quoted by IBT.
Meanwhile, a report published on Tech2 said that OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said that its upcoming smartphone will be sold below $450. The company also revealed that the device will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC, USB Type-C port, and fingerprint sensor.
"Our spec announcement this week was for an exciting addition to the OnePlus 2 - an extremely fast and accurate fingerprint sensor. We're confident that this feature will offer the best user experience possible for our fans, adding a new level of security and convenience," said Cat of Oneblog.
OnePlus 2 is the new flagship project of OnePlus after the successful launch of the OnePlus One device and an exclusive agreement with Cyanogen. OnePlus has announced that the OnePlus 2 will be launched on July 27 via the world's first VR product launch. The company further said that it has sold out 30,000 Cardboard headsets in a matter of 12 hours.
