Asus ZenFone 2 Update: Device to Get Android 5.1 Lollipop Update For ZE550ML Model

Asus' recently released flagship smartphone, the Asus Zenfone 2, is slated to receive Google's Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update as the reported mobile system is on the final testing stage. Specifically, the Asus Zenfone 2 ZE550ML model is expected to receive the firmware, Techtimes reported.

According to Techtimes, an Asus employee has confirmed that the Android 5.1 .1 Lollipop firmware update will be rolled out soon. The information was obtained after a certain ZenFone 2 ZE550ML user named Indrajeet asked the said employee as to when Zenfone 2 will receive the update. "I understand you are eager to get lollipop 5.1, but it is in final testing; soon we will get the date of release then we can tell you the exact date," said the Asus employee as quoted by the same website.

Accordingly, Asus' flagship entry-level smartphone ZenFone 2 ZE550ML is currently running with Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware. The said entry-level smartphone is powered by Intel's quad-core processor, the Atom Z3560, clocked at 1.8 GHz. The Asus handset has 2 GB of random access memory.

International Business Times has also cited other Asus handsets that are currently running with Android 5.0 Lollipop mobile operating system. These devices are ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6, respectively.

The Asus Zenfone 2 ZE550ML comes with a 5.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen with 720x1280 pixels (267 ppi pixel density). The smartphone is protected and covered by the highly scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Other features of the Asus Zenfone 2 ZE550ML model are a 16GB internal memory, which can be expanded up to 64 GB using a microSD card, a 13-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel front snapper. The phone features a non-removable Li-Po 3,000mAh battery, which has a longer battery life, according to International Business Times.
