‘Homeland’ Season 5 Teaser Trailer, Spoilers: Witness Carrie and Saul's Confrontation, How Will Quinn React with Carrie's New Boyfriend? [Video]

Excitement is definitely building up as Showtime's hard-hitting action-thriller series, "Homeland" is set to return for Season 5. The newly-released teaser trailer just reminded us that we truly missed Carrie, Quinn, and Saul.

As we can recall, Homeland Season 4 Finale didn't quite end well as Carrie (Claire Danes) told Quinn (Rupert Friend) that she didn't want to continue their growing relationship because she's scared that she would mess it up. Though Quinn tried to reassure her, they still separated making Quinn feel a bit betrayed while he's about to go to a suicide mission. Things stirred up a bit when Carrie's mother returned after being away for 20 years.

Now Homeland Season 5 will continue the story two and half years forward, with Carrie quitting the CIA and living in Berlin, Germany. She will be working as the security head for a German philanthropist. But judging from the new Homeland trailer, it may seem that Carrie is indeed trying to leave her past behind but may find out that it is easier said than done.

According to Slashfilm, Homeland Season 5 will introduce a host of new characters including Sebastian Koch as Carrie's new boss; Miranda Otto as the Berlin chief of station working under Saul; and Sarah Sokolovic as another of Carrie's colleagues.

Of course, it can be expected that the Carrie-Quinn love team wouldn't die down easily as Rupert Friend was reported to return. But what do you think will happen especially when Quinn gets to meet Jonas (Alexander Fehling) who is reportedly Carrie's new boyfriend?

ABCnews also indicated that "Carrie is being pulled back into her old world, though possibly with some new adversaries." Ukrainian actor Mark Ivanir will play Saul's counterpart in the Russian SVR.

Though Homeland Season 5 has no exact air date, rumor mills suggest that it will return late September or October this year.
