"Fifty Shades of Grey" star Eloise Mumford recently talked about "Fifty Shades Darker" and her relationship with Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson).
In "Fifty Shades of Grey," Mumford played the role of Kate, Anastasia's roommate and good friend. According to the star, Kate is very protective of Ana, so she wouldn't tolerate Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) for hurting her physically or otherwise.
Mumford also revealed that Kate will know more about Ana and Christian's relationship in "Fifty Shades Darker." In an interview with Glamour Magazine, she said, "In the second film she finds out the exact nature of Ana and Christian's relationship and that's a huge moment for her and her friends... Obviously, Kate is a very protective friend and a very passionate and fiery person."
Meanwhile, Mumford teased the upcoming sequel by saying that a lot of new things will happen to the charcters. However, the actress failed to provide confirmation on when the filming of "Fifty Shades Darker" will start.
"I'm not sure I'm allowed to say, but it's happening and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the cast again and the crew. We had such a wonderful family and I mean, obviously it was a bonding experience to shoot this movie," she said.
In other news, there are speculations that Anastasia will have a hard time choosing between Christian and new character Jack Hyde. As of late, Universal Pictures has not yet tapped an actor to play the part, but fans of the "Fifty Shades" trilogy know how important Jack's role is in the story of Ana and Christian, Movie News Guide reported. [Spoilers follow]
With this, there are speculations that Anastasia will be confused with the intentions of both men. However, as it was written in E.L. James' novel, Anastasia will eventually choose Christian and the two of them will get married and have children.
"Fifty Shades Darker" will hit theaters in the United States this coming Feb. 10, 2017.
