Meanwhile, Grande, the "Problem" singer appears to be licking doughnuts at a California shop with her boyfriend over Fourth of July weekend. According to the news reported by Yahoo, after an employee brings out a tray of treats, Grande was overheard saying: "I hate Americans. I hate America."
The clip has been making the social media rounds Wednesday morning, and Grande's name has been trending on Facebook.
Grande released her statement on Wednesday regarding the "doughnuts" incident. She apologized for saying she hated America in comments, and was caught on tape, that she said they were taken out of context. She said that she has always made it clear that she loves her country.
She clarified the news by releasing a statement saying, "What I said in a private moment with my friend, who was buying the doughnuts, was taken out of context and I am sorry for not using more discretion with my choice of words," she said, as quoted by Yahoo. Grande said that sometimes she gets upset by how freely Americans eat and consume things without giving any thought to the consequences that it has on their health and society as a whole.
MLB's chief operating officer Tony Petitti released his statement as quoted by Yahoo regarding Grande's removal as a performer in the concert saying, "We're disappointed that Ariana Grande cannot partake in the All-Star festivities, but wish her a speedy recovery."
