If you are excited about the release of OS X 10.11, you'd be glad to know that you won't be waiting for long. OS X 10.11 El Capitan will launch in the autumn and it can be downloaded by all users. According to TechRadar, they expect the new version to arrive this October since Apple usually does its release on this month.
Generally, El Capitan focuses more on the performance rather than new features. According to Macworld.uk, your Mac will definitely feel faster once Version El Capitan is installed. When opening emails and PDFs, running El Capitan will make these actions perform 2 to 4 times faster. Games' performance will also be 10 times faster. But one thing that won't be "faster" this time is your Mac's battery life. Apple states that battery requirement will be reduced in the new version - which is good news to everyone waiting for El Capitan.
Although the main focus of this new version is in its performance, Apple did not forget to give us new features that we should be excited about. Some of these new features are as follows:
Cursor Locator - Finding your cursor has been made easier with El Capitan. If you shake your mouse, the cursor will grow in size for a moment.
Expose - In the older Expose, documents overlap with each other. In the new version, the documents will be in minimized views. This means a cleaner and a more organized view for your documents.
Split View - Now, you can view more than one app at once. When dragging the resize button, you'd be able to view apps in split view and then change the space consumed by each app.
Spotlight Improvements - Spotlight has also improved in many ways, making it easier and more useful to users. You can now do a search query using a more natural language. Also, spotlight is no longer fixed at the center of your screen. In OS X 10.11, you can move it around.
Safari Improvements - Pinning your favorite sites to the menu bar is now possible. Meaning, you can create a shortcut to your favorite social accounts.
El Capitan also has a Safari feature that allows you to identify tabs that currently play audio. With just one click, you can mute a tab and even all tabs at once.
New Actions in Mail - iOS mail gestures are now activated in Version El Capitan. Swiping right will make a message be marked as unread/read, and swiping left will delete a message.
These new features and performance upgrades will make your Mac experience easier and definitely more efficient. And the best thing about OS X 10.11 is that it can be downloaded for free!
