11-Year-Old Fan With Leukemia Receives $50,000 From Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift simply has one of the biggest hearts in Hollywood! The pop singer donated $50,000 to an 11-year old fan who was suffering from leukemia.

Naomi Oakes is just one of the millions of Swifties (Taylor Swift fans) from all over the world. The 11-year old was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) on June 25, reports U.K.'s the Metro, and was disheartened when she learned about her illness. The little girl was even more devastated when she discovered that she won't be able to watch Taylor Swift's "1989" concert in Phoenix due to hospital treatments.

Knowing that Naomi is a dedicated Swift fan, Oakes' father uploaded a video on You Tube July 5. The clip showed just how much the little girl adored Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood", which Naomi reportedly chose as her cancer fight song. The family also set up a GoFundMe account for Oakes, asking for financial assistance to help cover the mounting expenses given Naomi's battle with cancer.

On Tuesday, July 7, the Oakes family received a pleasant surprise when Taylor Swift generously donated $50,000 to Naomi's GoFundMe account, reports USA Today. The pop singer even left a touching note for the 11-year old, writing on the donation page: "To the beautiful and brave Naomi, I'm sorry you have to miss it, but there will always be more concerts. Let's focus on getting you feeling better. I'm sending the biggest hugs to you and your family."

This is not the first time that Swift helped one of her fans or made a generous donation to a worthy cause. Last month, the singer and songwriter donated $15,000 to a Texas firefighter who responded to a head-on-collision and found that the victims were his family, reports Time.

Swift's generosity and influence is spreading not only in Hollywood but across other industries as well. The "Bad Blood" singer recently influenced Apple Music to change their company policy on royalty payments. And now, according to Billboard, the singer was also instrumental in having GoFundMe revise their policy on donation limits. Previously, GoFundMe had a donation limit of $15,000, but after Swift's Tuesday donation, the crowd sourcing website changed it to $50,000.

This only proves how much Taylor Swift loves her fans.
