Missouri based company, A Beautiful Mess, listed their model house for the DIY home improvements they are featured on Pinterest. According to Realtor, the brains behind the DIY interior and exterior home improvements sisters, Elsie Larson and Emma Chapman, have listed the four bedroom house in the market for $189,000, including the DIY featured improvement that the sisters have done since 2013.
The two-story home was their studio since 2013. This house served as their office space with rooms for them to do their magic, with regards to improvements. The reason behind the listing is because of Larson moving to Nashville.
Larson and Chapman's house is approximately 139 years old and has a total of 2,424 square foot in house size. But the most appealing thing about this house was its colonial design. Despite the renovation, the house still hints tradition, which includes the refinished wood floors, original staircase, and banister.
Listing agent who is responsible for the house said that it is not only the Larson/Chapman house that is traditional, but the entire area, which he said that has an electric of feel of the community's rich history.
On the inside, although the vintage element is very present outside, the home's colorful interior would be its biggest draw. The kitchen is very bright in yellow cabinets that are paired with white subway tile. The garage, which serves as the sister's workshop, is also donned by a yellow wall.
The sisters also said that the total renovation cost for the house is about $30,000, which includes HVAC system upgrade, redoing and smooth-coating the drywall, and appliances.
Chapman also said that the house, although it is mainly used as an office, is ideal for a small family or a couple who works from home. She added that the four rooms have plenty of space to spread out. The only downside on the house, according to the owners, would be the bathroom, which is only one.
RealtyToday also published an article about DIY renovations that can be done by within a day. The simple upgrades includes painting and appliance upgrade to name a few.
