Marvel Universe Update: First Look for 'X-Men: Apocalypse' at the Comic-con Held in San Diego

The cast of X-Men and the director Bryan Singer revealed a footage of "X-Men: Apocalypse" during the recent Comic-con held in San Diego last July 11, as reported by MTV. The article added that the trailer form was based on five weeks of shooting.

"Film school disclaimer, this is sort of cut in trailer format but it represents only about 5 weeks of shooting, no finished visual effects or anything like that. But what it does represent are the tastes and tone of the movie we're making," he said before revealing the footage.

In an article from Slashfilm, the footage started revealing the silhouette of Jean Grey as portrayed by Famke Janssen. Afterwards, those images are being dreamt by the new young Jean Grey, portrayed by Sophie Turner and said, "I saw the end of the world. I could feel all this death." Charles Xavier is sitting nearby to her said and encourages Jean that it was just a dream.

In another scene, there's a voiceover in a very old city and said, "I've been called many things over many lifetimes. Ra, Krishna, Yaweh."

The scene changes wherein Moira Mactaggart and Charles Xavier are talking. Moira said, "Ever since the world found out about mutants there have been secret societies, cults, who see them as some kind of second coming or sign of god. I was tracking one of them, they believe that tens of thousands of years ago an ancient being was born. The world's first..." Xavier continued, "Mutant."

In another scene, Apocalypse as portrayed by Oscar Isaac said, "I was there to spark and fan the flame of man's awakening. To spin the wheel of civilization." In addition, Storm was with Apocalypse and Magneto was being invited by Apocalypse.

The footage also revealed characters like Nightcrawler, Cyclops, Psylocke and Quicksilver. Raven mentioned that mutants are being hunted and living in fear. On the other hand, Xavier is trying on Cerebro and said, "He can control all of us. I've never felt power like this before." The footage ended when a full view of Xavier in a suit and in the wheelchair.

In the meantime, Variety reported that the cast of "X-Men" were joined by members of the cast of other films such as "Deadpool," "Fantastic Four" and "Wolverine" for a group picture. Stan Lee, creator of X-Men, walked on stage and said, "I'll take the damn photo. I do more than just cameos!"

Also, Bryan Singer released a picture of Apocalypse in his Instagram account with the caption, "En Sabah Nur.#XMenApocalypse #SDCC." One Instagram user commented, "En Saba Nur For A.K.A Apocalypse"

"X-Men: Apocalypse" will be in theaters on May 27, 2016.
