Fans blasted NBC for cancelling the TV show Hannibal. When the network announced their decision to cancel the show, fans did not think twice about literally booing the network. If the fans were bitter, executive producer Bryan Fuller was able to remain optimistic and at the same time in-defense about NBC's decision. His exact words being, "Hey, NBC let us do some crazy shit for three years, they deserve our applause". And to comfort disappointed fans, he also tried to give them hope by saying that they are still looking to find a new spot for Hannibal. He even said that a feature is also possible in the future. He continued to defend NBC by saying that the network has allowed them to create a series that other networks would not have agreed to air. Fuller implied great appreciation to NBC for keeping their show for three years despite some factors that could have called for early cancellation.
It was only this June that NBC confirmed that the fourth season of Hannibal will no longer happen. Some sources say that an issue about rights has brought about the unfortunate decision to cancel Hannibal. It was said that in the fourth season of the series, Claire Starling was supposed to be introduced. But the problem is that, the rights for the character that was previously played by Jodie Foster is not available at the moment.
To NBC's defense, they do no dislike the show. In fact, they expressed the gratefulness towards the show by saying that they are incredibly proud about the Hannibal's three-season success. They also made sure that they commend the writers, producers, and actors of the series for the job well done. NBC said that the Hannibal team has brought something different which made the show second to none as far as TV shows are concerned. NBC thanked the whole team for all their efforts to give all its audiences worldwide a great experience in watching the TV show.
