Coincidence or Demi Lovato was really taking a dig at fellow pop star, Ariana Grande, when she chose to sing 'Made In The USA' at the MLB All-star Game concert after Grande's much publicized 'I hate America' scandal? Hollywood Life has the deets!
Demi performed her 2013 single "Made in the USA" Saturday night at the MLB All-star game concert and fans think that there is more than just patriotism behind the song choice. Ariana Grande, who was originally scheduled to sing at the event, was recently involved in a video scandal where she was caught saying 'I hate Americans. I hate America'.
Fans now can't help but think that the song choice was a blow at the 'Love Me Harder' singer - they are totally not buying that she had to back out of the performance because of an emergency oral surgery as MLB made clear.
@frantasyIand: DEMI SHADED ARIANA AT THE CONCERT TONIGHT GOD BLESS AMERICA
@JoelSpencer15: Lol Demi just threw some serious shade at Ariana at this concert
@mistakeslovatos: demi brought the whole package tonight the vocals,the shade,the body,the tan,the outfit,and the HOLY VOCALS.
@AnnuhhManiac: "I'm proud to be an American" -Demi's sneaky #diss to Ariana. #onfleek #iloveudemi @ddlovato
But the Camp Rock artist was not pleased with fans accusing her of throwing shade at the "Break Free" singer when she took to Twitter to fire back:
"Didn't get to sing Made in the USA on the 4th because I was singing #COOLFORTHESUMMER. No shade - stop the bulls-t," she tweeted after the concert.
But in a news by EOnline, Demi reportedly asked people in attendance at the all-star game concert the question, "How many of you guys are proud to be an American?"
But according to the 22-year-old singer, it's something she normally does and unrelated to any issue.
"ALSO-I ALWAYS ask that when I sing that song," she tweeted. "Can't y'all let a girl shine for one night? Smh."
So there, looks like this issue should be put to a close. Demi did not Shade Ariana during Saturday's concert. Let's move on, everyone.
