'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Spoilers: President Obama Got Confirmation that Jon Snow is Really Dead

Since Game of Thrones season 5's horrifying Jon Snow death - or appeared to be stabbed to death - season ending, fans have expressed their disappointment and sadness over the fate of the show's most favorite character. Plus, the agony of not knowing the truth adds to the injury since the scene lacked details that could confirm the character's death. But what if President Barack Obama himself got the confirmation that Jon Snow is "deader than dead"?

One of the show's directors, David Nutter, was at the Comic-con in San Diego last Friday and according to him, he confirmed Jon Snow's death to no less than the President of the United States three weeks ago, huffingtonpost.com reports.

Nutter made this statement with just a few press members around, away from the hordes of fans.

"Three weeks ago, I was the in the company of the President of the United States.

"He turned to me, put his hand on my shoulder, and said, 'You didn't kill Jon Snow did you?' I said, 'Jon Snow is deader than dead.' I thought I was going to be sent to Guantanamo or something, but fortunately I'm here - but he's dead," he told Entertainment Weekly.

Obama turns out to be a fan of the show and even confessed that his most favorite episode was season 3's notorious Red Wedding.

Nutter also told the publication that the president had one complain which everyone can surely identify to: "You keep killing off my favorite characters." That makes a lot of us, Mr. President. We share the same sentiment.

Although writer George RR Martin left it hanging in the books, this confirmation should now put an end to the rumors that Kit Harington's beloved character will be coming back after he sported a Jon Snow-esque hair at Wimbeldon after reportedly quoted saying that he hates the long hair and that the first thing he'll do is to cut it when he leaves the show.

Is Jon Snow gone for good? Or will he come back in one form or another? In a report by indedendent.co.uk, one of the theories is that Melisandre, after returning to Castle Black, will revive Jon by channeling the Lord of Light. Another one is based on the Starks' ability to transport their minds into that of an animal and that he may Warg into his Direwolf, Ghost.
