DC Movie Update: ‘‘Suicide Squad’’ Trailer Released during Comic-con; Trailer Leaks online

"Justice has a bad side."

The tagline was mentioned in the first trailer of "Suicide Squad" that was seen during the recent Comic-con, as mentioned in Comicbook Movie.

David Ayer, director of "Suicide Squad," introduced the cast and showed the footage last July 11 at the Comic-con San Diego, as reported from MTV.

Youtube user Flicks and The City posted a video of the director together with the cast of "Suicide Squad" at the Comic-con.

In a report from IGN, the footage opens when Amanda Waller discusses her plans to put bad guys to do some good. Then, the scene shifted to Belle Reve Prison wherein villains are in their cells. Another scene appeared when the Suicide Squad assembled on the street. The footage ended when Joker laughed and delivered the line, "I'm not going to kill you. I'm just going to hurt you really, really bad."

Although Comic-Con panel moderators appealed to Hall H crowds not to post footage, there are still some who released a leak video, as reported from Deadline. The article added that this action might carry consequences at future Comic-Cons.

As mentioned in the same article, Sue Kroll, President of Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution for Warner Bros. said that the Comic-con trailer will not be released online.

"We have no plans currently to release the 'Suicide Squad' footage that leaked from Hall H on Saturday. It's unfortunate and ultimately damaging that one individual broke a long-standing trust we have enjoyed with our fans at the convention by posting early material, which, at this point, was not intended for a wider audience. We are still in production on 'Suicide Squad,' and will have a big campaign launch in the future. Our presentation yesterday was designed to be experienced in that room, on those big screens!," she said.

In the meantime, Kotaku released the leaked video.

"Suicide Squad" will have Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Raymond Olubawale as King Shark, Jay Hernandez Ike Barinholtz, Jim Parrack, Adam Beach, and Scott Eastwood.

"Suicide Squad" will be in theaters on August 5, 2016.
