Vine received a new update last Friday, July 10, and it is sure to make fans of this Twitter owned app happy. Users can now follow popular Vine creators with the new "Suggested Viners" section.
The upgrade features a new section wherein the Vine team has painstakingly compiled a list of the popular creators of six second looped videos, reports Tech Crunch. The team also ensured that the users who made it to the "Suggested Viners" list have content that are worth following.
To access the new section, Vine users would need to click on the "Find People" icon located at the top left of the screen. Once clicked, the app will list suggested Vine accounts that the user may possibly be interested in. Vine's Kristian Bauer wrote in a blog post that the "Find People" icon features the hand-picked suggestions. Bauer also stated the new list of suggested Viners will make it easy for users to find other accounts to follow.
Over the past few months, Vine has been improving its functionality to offer better and easier use of the app. Last June, Vine's upgrade featured an improved search functionality that enabled users to key in a specific phrase to find related content, states Tech Times. This was a welcome addition given that users were previously limited to using hashtags and usernames to look for content.
Additionally, Vine users now have the option to look outside their Twitter network and immediate friends. In the past, users were only allowed to search within Twitter and their Address Book contacts. Now, Viners can search for like-minded users outside that circle.
In March, the Twitter-app was also updated to allow iOS users to view Vine videos in 720p instead of 480p. The Tech Times report states that in the latest update, Vine has further improved this capability. Viners can now upload their six second creations in 720p high definition videos. To check video settings, Vine users may simply open their Profile / Settings / Your Content section to view the resolution details.
The Vine update is already available for iOS, Windows Phone and Android users.
