"The Big Bang Theory" executive producer and episode writer Steve Molaro recently talked about the future of Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy's (Mayim Bialik) relationship at the San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday. During the "Inside The Big Bang Theory Writer's Room" panel, Molaro revealed to the event attendees that the premiere episode for Season 9 will tackle the onscreen couple's relationship.
Molaro also talked about Sheldon's engagement ring and said fans should not wait much longer to know the real story behind the precious jewelry. According to him, this too will be discussed in the first episode for the upcoming season of the hit CBS series.
Meanwhile, cast members Kunal Nayyar and Bialik who were present at the San Diego Comic-Con were surprised to hear Molaro's revelation. According to them, they do not know much about the upcoming premiere episode of "The Big Bang Theory" because they still do not have the script.
According to Business Insider, Nayyar revealed that the cast members only receive the script a night before the filming of a particular episode. With this, they are still currently in the dark as to the future of Sheldon and Amy's relationship and even the relationship of Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki).
In other news, Molaro previously spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the onscreen couple's future and hinted that Sheldon and Amy will definitely get back together in Season 9.
"I don't know exactly what's going to happen but Sheldon is clearly fond of her. I don't think they're done speaking by any means. He's so fond of her - something is going to happen between them, I'm sure," he said.
"The Big Bang Theory" Season 9 will premiere on CBS this coming September. The series also stars Melissa Rauch as Bernadette and Simon Helberg as Howard.
