"Allegiant" star Theo James recently opened up about his onscreen partner Shailene Woodley and said that he hopes they can still work together after completing the "Divergent" franchise.
In an interview with Times Union, James said that he is hopeful there will be another project that would require him to work with Woodley again. "In a nice way, Shay and I - it's a slow burn. We are100 percent good friends, but it's a slow burning thing; I think there's still more to come. At least I hope so," he said.
Meanwhile, James and Woodley do not only share an undeniable chemistry onscreen. The two are also being linked to one another because of their close friendship. However, both James and Woodley are currently dating their respective partners, so a romantic relationship between them is far-fetched, according to Movie News Guide.
In other news, James previously talked about what it was like filming sex scenes with Woodley on the set of "Insurgent." At that time, the actor revealed that he would usually drink alcohol to help calm his nerves.
"Sometimes booze helps if it's really hard core. With this, it's okay because at the end of the day, it's going to be PG-13. Sometimes the most awkward thing is when you're shooting and you're doing something, and then something has to be tweaked, so you can't move, but you're so right there. So you're like, 'What's up?' And you're completely naked and covered in sweat," he told E! News.
Fans of the "Divergent" series can expect more intimate scenes with James, who plays the role of Four, and Woodley, who plays the role of Tris. In "Allegiant," the onscreen couple will work together to escape the Bureau of Genetic Welfare and save their own faction.
"Allegiant - Part 1" is slated to hit theaters in the United States this coming May 18, 2016.
