In the recent San Diego Comic-Con, Robert Kirkman unveiled a new horror show, and it was reported that the trailer is creepy and spooky. The creator of "The Walking Dead" is launching his new show on Cinemax titled "Outcast." It is based on the comic series that he co-created with Paul Azaceta.
According to AV Club, the show is advertised as more of a horror story compared to "The Walking Dead." Coming Soon reports that the TV series follows the story of Kyle Barnes, played by Patrick Fugit, who has been suffering from demonic possession all his life. He embarks on a journey to look for answers in order to regain his normal life.
He is helped by Reverend Anderson, who is played by Philip Glenister, in his war against the forces of evil. According to the report, Kirkman has been working on the script for the pilot episode since November, before the first issue of the comic book was even published.
Hollywood Reporter listed the joining cast, which includes Reg E. Cathey, who will play Giles, Rome's chief of police and Anderson's friend. Julia Crockett will play Sarah Barns, who is Kyle's mother. She makes the young Kyle's life difficult because of her seemingly mental illness. Along the way, it was reported that Kyle will discover something more about his mother.
Wrenn Schmidt will play Megan Holter, Kyle's adopted sister and a child psychologist. She is always on a mission to fix Kyle. Both Kyle and Megan share a scarred past, which the latter covers with her confident front.
Kip Pardue will play Mark Holter, Megan's husband. He is a small town cop who has a bit of a temper. Despite being religious, he is also skeptic on issues like demonic possessions. Meanwhile, Gabriel Bateman will join the cast as Joshua Austin, a young boy who also appears to be suffering from demonic possession.
"Outcast" is set to premiere in 2016 on Cinemax.
