Miss Oklahoma Olivia Jordan Wins Miss USA 2015

America celebrates newly crowned Olivia Jordan as Miss USA 2015. Jordan donned the Miss USA crown Sunday night, July 12, leaving the first runner-up title to Miss Texas Ylianna Guerra, 22 years old, and the second runner-up title to Miss Rhode Island Anea Garcia, 20 years old.

Rounding out the top five are Miss Nevada Brittany McGowan, 25, as third runner-up and Miss Maryland Mame Adjei, 23, as fourth runner-up.

The 26 year old Jordan took over the title from Miss USA 2014 title winner Miss Nia Sanchez of Nevada. Jordan hailed from Oklahoma and was wearing a hot pink strapless gown as she was reported to have wowed the crowed during the interview segment of the competition, beating fifty other contestants. Each contestant was asked two questions and was given thirty seconds to answer each. Where the other floundered, Miss Oklahoma stood out by being confident when she was asked what would be the next big social issue America would need to tackle and she answered race relations.

"We have not solved this issue," Jordan said. "We really need to work on being an accepting society."

Race relations has been a hot issue in recent weeks after Donald Trump made a number of controversial anti-immigration comments during his presidential bid announcement, leaving the Miss USA pageant without a network and hosts.

Interviewed afterward by The Associated Press about Trump, Miss USA 2015 answered: "We have freedom of speech in this country, and immigration is certainly an important issue."

Back on the second question of the interview segment, Jordan was asked about which woman should be put on the new ten-dollar bill and she initially suggested Oprah Winfrey before finally ending with Harriet Tubman, a former slave who led other escaped slaves to freedom.

Miss Jordan of Tulsa, Oklahoma earned a Bachelor's degree in Health Science from Boston University and was a group fitness instructor as well as a personal trainer. She has appeared in several commercials, both national and international, and was most recently appeared in the film Hot Tub Time Machine 2.
