When Microsoft announced the July 29 release date for Windows 10 operating system, tech-savvy users are expecting to buy a personal computer powered by Windows 10. However, this turns out to be unlikely as the company is reportedly doing some final touches on its newest operating system, a Yahoo report stated on Tuesday.
According to Yahoo, the new Microsoft Windows 10 operating system won't be available for PC makers this week and this will eventually push PC vendors to have an extra time to test and install Windows 10 OS on various electronic devices. Consequently, consumers won't be able to explore and pre-install the Windows 10 operating system come July 29.
A Bloomberg report, however, stressed that Microsoft has categorically stated that a number of personal computers will be pre-installed with Windows 10 come July 29. In fact, Dell Inc., Hewlett-Packard Co., Lenovo Group Ltd. as well as Acer Inc. will have their devices installed with Windows 10, which will be sold in some retail stores. The report noted that Microsoft is planning to deliver the operating system coupled with updates through a download.
"A build of Windows 10 will be delivered to our OEM partners soon so they can start imaging new devices with Windows 10. We expect several OEM partners to have Windows 10 devices available for sale on July 29, including Lenovo, HP, Dell, and Acer with many, many more devices to follow in the coming weeks and months. We are excited to be working with our OEM partners to see Windows 10 innovations light up on these new devices," a Microsoft spokesperson said as quoted in a Yahoo report.
According to the same report, Dell is accepting pre-orders for its personal computers pre-installed with Windows 10. The report added that the pre-installed Dell devices with Windows 10 will be shipped on July 29 via Dell's Same Day Ship Option.
Meanwhile, Arstechnica reported that software giant Microsoft will conduct a series of events such as experiential demos to promote Windows 10. The events will reportedly be held in Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing, New Delhi, Dubai, Nairobi, Berlin, Johannesburg, Madrid, London, São Paulo, and New York City.
