"Scandal" fans will be devastated to know that Scott Foley, who plays the role of Jake Ballard, may no longer make it until the end of the upcoming fifth installment of the ABC series.
In Season 4, Foley's character was almost killed off after Rowan Pope (Joe Morton) asked his team to take him down. Luckily, series creator Shonda Rhimes decided to still make him part of the series. At that time, Foley himself said that he was unsure of his fate on "Scandal," especially since Rhimes has the power to just axe any character from her shows.
Meanwhile, Celeb Dirty Laundry recently reported that Foley may not be part of "Scandal" Season 5 in its entirety because the actor is feuding with lead star Kerry Washington. The latter plays the role of Olivia Pope.
"Sources say Kerry Washington's tense relationship with on-screen boyfriend Scott Foley is what got his character riddled with stab wounds on the season finale. While Scott has assured fans that he will be back next season, he also has hinted that Shonda Rhimes said the end is near," the publication noted.
As of late, it has already been confirmed that Foley will be back to reprise his role as Jake. However, whether or not he will make it until the end of Season 5 is what's still unclear.
In other news, Foley previously dished on what fans can expect in the upcoming fifth installment of the TV series during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
"These last couple episodes as a real great transition for the show toward season five. They are taking characters and roles and positions and conventions that you're used to on the show and getting rid of them, flipping them upside down, doing things you wouldn't expect," he said.
"Scandal" Season 5 will premiere on ABC this coming September 24 at 9 p.m. ET.
